Welcome back to the ninth episode of our podcast series where we interview interesting Information Technology type people in South Africa. This week we are focusing on Rika Gertenbach. She is a Chief Information Officer focusing on Payments. This is also part of our initiative to focus on Women in Tech.
Rika is an inspirational female and does not only excel in IT/Tech but also sport. In the podcast you will hear her advice to young women and other musings. If you are interested in Agile at Scale she also shares her views on Release Train Engineers which is a role in the Scaled Agile Framework.
I personally find Rika hugely energizing and she is an inspiration to me. What doesn't come through in the interview is her attention to detail which is a huge asset in our industry.
Women in Tech
Women in Tech is a major theme here at Langerman Panta Rhei. Women are vastly under-represented and access to their skills is a loss for our industry.
See Prof. Judy Backhouse's view on this. Where are the women in Tech?
Other women in IT we interviewed are:
- Brenda Niehaus (CIO)
- Tanya Momberg (Relationship Manager)
